Starch Powder finds its application in food industry as an additive, pharmaceuticals as an excipient, and as adhesive in paper making industry. It is a polymeric carbohydrate which consists of a number of glucose units joined together by glycosidic bonds. This a white colored odorless powder that can be applied to garments for stiffening. Starch Powder can be malted to convert it into sugar and fermented while making beer & whiskey to produce ethanol. Its molecular structure consists of linear & helical amylose and branched amylopectin.
